Morandy Law is a Licensed Paralegal Practitioner ("LPP") firm. LPP's are not attorneys. They are licensed in the State of Utah to practice law, without attorney supervision, in the areas in which they are licensed.
LPP's can enter into a contractual relationship with their client, interview their client, review and explain documents and orders to their client, assist their client with the preparation of court-approved forms, gather facts and information related to the completion of the forms, and sign and file the forms for their client.
LPP's can communicate with opposing counsel on behalf of their client, advocate for their client in mediation, and assist in the settlement of their client's case, including completing a settlement agreement.
LPP's cannot orally advocate for their client in court hearings or trials like an attorney can. But they are permitted to sit with their clients to provide support and help them answer questions.
When you choose a Licensed Paralegal Practitioner (LPP) as your family law Licensed Paralegal Practitioner, you will benefit from many of the same advantages as hiring an attorney. We take the time to talk with you to understand your needs, assist you in preparing family law documents, help you obtain documents to support those forms and we can file them on your behalf with the court.
